Crochet class!

The crochet class at the community center started last Wednesday! Yippee! I've been bugging the woman who started the whole thing about it since July. It took a while for her to get the teachers together but it's finally started and I love it. I taught myself Tunisian crochet (which I am still learning everyday) but this is a regular crochet class which I knew very little about. It's exciting!

There are a few more women in the class now but this is the picture from the first class. I'm the one in the faded Jerry Garcia tie-dye.

If I can get my offspring fed and bathed and my mountains of laundry put away in decent time, I'll post pictures of what I've made so far from what I've learned in class. For now my Tunisian projects are kind of on the back burner while I try to get the hang of traditional crochet. I don't get confused going back and forth between projects, but I do hold my hook in a knitting position for Tunisian and that's doesn't work in traditional. So right now, I'm just trying to get the hang of getting comfortable holding my hook the "normal" way. Being slightly abnormal has always been my specialty, though!

  1. LOL most people learn the traditional before jumping into the Tunisian.

I put my Tunisian baby blanket project on the backburner as it was meant for the ex-boyfriend's new nephew and I was told they would feel "awkward" accepting it. But I have a co-worker who is pregnant now.. :)

    (Love the tie-dye, btw!)
